Shenmue 3 Hit With Another Delay

It's not the first time the game has been pushed back.

By Robert Marrujo:: Shenmue 3 had been years in the making prior to its successful Kickstarter campaign, but now it's actual development is looking to also be a multi-year affair. According to publisher Deep Silver, Shenmue 3 will not be dropping in 2018 as planned, instead now being envisioned as a 2019 release. Here's Deep Silver's official (and brief!) announcement:

Deep Silver today announce that their upcoming release Shenmue III has been moved and will now release in 2019.

The extra time will be used to polish the quality of the game even further, to the high standards it deserves and release the product in the best possible timeframe.

While it stinks to see a game as hotly anticipated as Shenmue 3 pushed back, given the... shaky reception some Kickstarter darlings have gotten in recent years (we're looking at you Mighty No.9!), perhaps more development time will be better in the long run.
