PC gamers come in all shapes and sizes, and for those looking to walk into a store and leave with a setup capable of playing and streaming games right out of the box, Dell might have something for you. The PC giant unveiled several new computers and configurations that have the potential to be a step above your current rig. Let's check out what was highlighted:
Dell Inspiron 5675
A desktop tower, the Dell Inspiron 5675 boasts a range of AMD Ryzen processors, with the cheapest model starting at $649.99. They also ship with a clear side panel, allowing you to showoff the unit's guts with some impressive lighting. Ships in September.
Alienware 34 Curved Monitor
There are two different iterations of this 34.1 inch monitor that will be made available: the AW3418DW and the AW3418HW. The former boasts a 1,900mm radius for its curvature and Ultra HD resolution, while the latter's curvature clocks in with a 3,800mm radius but lacks the same resolution capabilities.
These monitors are made to be gamer-centric, offering special menu features to customize the display for different game genres, a hollow stand to keep the playing area decluttered, and even a wealth of tilt to fiddle with to get your viewing angle just right. $1,500 and $1,200, respectively; note that the more expensive model is already available but that the cheaper one won't be out until the holidays.
Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop
Distinctly not an Alienware model, the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 starts at $799.99 (though that's currently a sale price—it'll jump to $899.99 later) and offers an i5-7300HQ Quad-Core. The highest tier of the 7000 comes with an i7-7700HQ Quad-Core and retails for $1,199.99 (and like the baseline model is also currently discounted—it'll eventually jump to $1,299.99).
Consumers also have the option to configure the computer with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1060 discrete graphics chip. The laptop is fairly thin, but accommodations have been made to keep the chip humming without having to pull back when things start getting hot inside the body of the unit. Dell noted during its presentation that "Behind those vents are extra-capacity heat exchangers connected by oversized piping to dual cooling fans with high-efficiency blade pitch.” Ships 09.12.17.
