Nearly 90,000 People and Climbing Petition For EA to Lose Star Wars License

Fans have had enough of the dark side, apparently.

By Robert Marrujo:: EA has been popping up quite a bit of late in the news, but sadly for all the wrong reasons. The latest PR debacle facing the company comes from John Hunt, who has created a petition on calling for EA to have the Star Wars license pried from its grip. Here's a chunk of his statement:

"EA have had the Star Wars video game license for the last 4 years, and in that time they've proven to their consumers that they honestly don't care about the gameplay experience or content, they'd rather rush out a game that will try and milk as much money out of consumers as possible."

The petition seems to be stemming from the disastrous launch of Star Wars Battlefront II, which saw its allegedly exploitative microtransactions halted, a move rumored to have come straight from Disney's top brass. As of this writing Hunt has managed to garner almost 90,000 signatures, but whether or not this will result in any sort of change is unknown.
