No "one day" nonsense, this time!
By Robert Marrujo:: Anyone who watched the premier of Season 3 of Rick and Morty saw that the show made a very big deal out of Rick's obsession with McDonald's Szechuan sauce. Such a big deal that McDonald's itself decided to dip a toe into the pool of Rick and Morty fandom and see if consumers would come through and give the sauce a try during a special "one day only" event.
As McDonald's quickly learned, Rick and Morty's following are legion, not to mention the throngs of folks who just loved Szechuan sauce regardless of the show, and stores were quickly inundated with customers who just as swiftly inhaled the coveted stock of condiment. In response, McDonald's gave the following statement/announcement on its Facebook page:
That's right: Szechuan sauce is back, baby!
