Spoilers ahead, so don't say you weren't warned!
By Robert Marrujo:: Marvel has been hyping up Marvel Legacy, both the one-shot and the line-wide revamp, for months now. One of the biggest teases to come out of all that promotion has been word that a major character will be making a comeback in Marvel Legacy #1. The safe money up until today was that Jean Grey was the character in question. As it turns out... she's not the only member of the X-Men rising from the ashes.
Or in this case, rising from a blob of Adamantium.
That's right people, the Wolverine himself is clawing his way back into the Marvel Universe. It's been over three years since Logan was killed off in writer Charles Soule and artist Steve McNiven's Death of Wolverine miniseries. Now, the superstar mutant is primed to make his presence known once more in the wake of some very trying times for Marvel's pantheon of heroes.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso said the following:
"Yes, Logan is back from the dead. After three years of a Logan-free Marvel Universe, Logan is back, claws popped and ready for action. How he came back, why he came back, and just how he came into possession of that Infinity Stone are part of a fascinating story that's going to unveil soon, and in some unusual places."
Logan having an Infinity Stone alone is interesting, but there are now a million other questions that will need answering, such as what happens to X-23 and Old Man Logan now that "the best there is at what he does" is sucking air once more? Undoubtedly we'll start to get a better understanding when Marvel Legacy #1 drops on Wednesday, September 27.
