Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2 Getting Updates

343 Industries is prepping the games for the launch of Xbox One X.

By Robert Marrujo:: During a special livestream, 343 Industries revealed a whole slew of Halo news. First up are the pending updates for Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2. Here's the details:

Halo 5 Overtime Update

  • Oddball multiplayer mode returning
  • Local Server app allow for local server hosting on Windows 10 PCs on the same network as Xbox One systems
  • New skins
  • Xbox One X enhancements

Halo Wars 2 Update

  • Xbox One X enhancements
  • Xbox Arena mode compatibility allows for crossplay between One and PC users to organize and facilitate competitions

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will also be getting some Xbox One X enhancements (as seems to be the trend, eh?), though there was no official word as to what those enhancements will entail.

It was also divulged during the livestream when fans can expect to enjoy/attempt to partake in the lead up to the Halo World Championship 2018. The Fall 2017 qualifiers take place this upcoming weekend in North America, Europe, New Zealand/Australia, and Latin America. That's a lot of Halo news! Which is always exciting.
