Disturbing It Scene Was Cut From Film

Not for the squeamish!

By Robert Marrujo:: It is already pretty creepy by most people's standards, but if BloodyDisgusting is to be believed, the film could have been a lot more so. According to the site, actor Bill Skarsgård revealed during an installment of Variety's Playback podcast that a scene of his character Pennywise eating a baby was cut from the final version of the movie.

BloodyDisgusting wanted to verify the claim, so it went down the rabbit hole and discovered that actor Timothy Simons had auditioned for the role of Pennywise and the content of the cut scene came to light. The piece of the script that Simons and Skarsgård seem to be referencing has allegedly been posted on Reddit. Here's a chunk of it (no pun intended):

She turns away from the baby. Faces those dying embers. We keep on her face as they seem to begin GLOWING BRIGHTER AS -- OVER HER SHOULDER -- OUT OF FOCUS -- Pennywise crawls over to the Baby and starts to feast. SHARP CRY FROM THE BABY CUT OFF as we hear a CRUNCH. Abigail continues to look into the BRIGHT ORANGE GLOW of not the flickering fire... ...but the DEADLIGHTS. Her expression changing. Fear. Denial. Grief. Acceptance. And then nothing. Just a glazed look. AS IF NOTHING HORRIFIC IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING BEHIND HER.

Brrrr. Some pretty grizzly stuff, but whether or not the scene was ever filmed, even in part, or if it'll be showing up in some capacity once It arrives on Blu-ray and DVD is anyone's guess. It was already bad enough seeing poor Georgie missing and arm, so perhaps that's what prompted the scene's removal.
